1994 was a watershed moment for the Mexican state, as the city of Chiapas birthed a ground-breaking struggle against corporate control over their rightful land. Drawing inspiration from the legacy of Marxist and left-wing leaders like Ernesto “Che” Guevara and Emiliano Zapata, the EZLN purports to be the paramilitary wing of revolutionaries fighting for the sovereignty of indigenous people across Mexico.
This t-shirt tries to capture the powerful spirit of the Zapatista movement in revolutionary red and gold, complete with their signature, provocative slogan. Suit up. Viva el revolución.
