I think we are at a turning point. Covid-19 lockdown gave us time to think about the kind of world we want to come back to. Politics and economics, as we know them, have been irrevocably altered by the outbreak, with both socialism and capitalism teetering on the brink of oblivion (or being pushed off the cliff’s edge into obscurity).
Existentialism and international cooperation are now taking centre stage as society is pulled into a period of introspective mindfulness, reminding us that change is not only possible, it’s inevitable.
As BLM protests continue in the States and around the world, other activist communities are feeling encouraged to speak out. These photos were taken at a recent #AbolishIce protest in LA. Critics argue that the protest deterred attention from the Black Lives Matter movement. I don’t that’s the case. I think the current discontent with the old system is universal, and the more activist groups join in, the merrier. This is what momentum looks like. Let’s keep it going.
