"Class struggle is real" ALLRIOT
It’s 2022. The economy is having a bitch fit. House prices are skyrocketing. People are struggling to put food on the table. Gas prices… don’t even get me started. Capitalism is a failed social experiment. The class struggle is real. Here are some quotes from revolutionaries, Thought Criminals (and a certain ruthless authoritarian leader) who saw this coming.
Leon Trotsky
“The party that leans upon the workers but serves the bourgeoisie, in the period of the greatest sharpening of the class struggle, cannot but sense the smells wafted from the waiting grave.”
Ernesto Che Guevara
Here’s what Che Guevara had to say:
“We must bear in mind that imperialism is a world system, the last stage of capitalism — and it must be defeated in a world confrontation. The strategic end of this struggle should be the destruction of imperialism. Our share, the responsibility of the exploited and underdeveloped of the world is to eliminate the foundations of imperialism: our oppressed nations, from where they extract capitals, raw materials, technicians and cheap labor, and to which they export new capitals — instruments of domination — arms and all kinds of articles; thus submerging us in an absolute dependence.”
Joseph Stalin
“Mankind is divided into rich and poor, into property owners and exploited; and to abstract oneself from this fundamental division, and from the antagonism between poor and rich, means abstracting oneself from fundamental facts.”
(Don’t get your knickers in a twist, we’re not Stalin fanboys. This is a decent quote. End of.)
Karl Marx
Karl Marx’s take on class struggle:
“Landlords, like all other men, love to reap where they never sowed.”
Warren Buffett
“There’s class warfare, all right. But it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”
Adam Smith
“Civil government, so far as it is instituted for the security of property, is in reality instituted for the defense of the rich against the poor, or of those who have some property against those who have none at all.”
Noam Chomsky
And, of course, let’s not forget about Chomsky:
“All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.”
Rosa Luxemburg
Rosa Luxemburg doesn’t disappoint:
“The masses are the decisive element, they are the rock on which the final victory of the revolution will be built.”
Mao Zedong
“If you want to know the taste of a pear, you must change the pear by eating it yourself. If you want to know the theory and methods of revolution, you must take part in revolution. All genuine knowledge originates in direct experience.”
